Independence, MO Bus Trip

September 27 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

This day trip includes a large amount of walking and some stairs.

Our first stop will be a guided walking tour through the newly renovated Harry S. Truman Library and Museum. The reimagined museum incorporates the latest storytelling techniques to immerse visitors in the extraordinary journeys of America and its unlikely 33rd president. The museum brings together artifacts, videos, and interactive elements to create an immersive, multimedia-driven experience.

We will then climb aboard mule drawn wooden wagons and experience the history of Independence through a 90-minute guided oral tour. We’ll travel the same streets as Civil War generals, The Bushwhackers & Jayhawkers, Frank and Jesse James, and Quantrill’s Raiders.

Children 12 and over are welcome when accompanied by an adult.

Registration deadline is Friday, September 23rd. Online registration is closed. Please call the library for ticket availability.

$50 per person—lunch included. Cost of the trip does not include gratuity for either the bus driver or the stage coach guide.
