Join us for a full day bus tour in pursuit of books, bites, and birds in the Kansas City area! Our first stop will be the Mid-Continent Public Library Midwest Genealogy Center. Located in Independence, Missouri, it is one of the United States’ preeminent resources for family history, providing access to almost three-quarters of a million on-site materials.

After, we’ll head to Kansas City for lunch on the Plaza at the Strang Chef Collective at Lightwell and some free time to explore the fountains and shops. We’ll end our day with a visit to UMKC Linda Hall Library for a tour and to experience “Chained to the Sky: The Science of Birds, Past & Future,” an exhibition that explores the story of our relationship with birds.

Bus departs at 9:15 am and returns around 4:15 pm. The cost will be $25 (lunch included). Additional cash on hand is recommended for gratuity for servers and bus driver, not included in registration fee.

This day trip includes a significant amount of walking.

Advanced registration / ticket purchase are required.

You may purchase your tickets using the online form below or by calling the library.

Registration deadline is March 13.
