The Board of Directors of the Basehor Community Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachael Hissong as its new Library Director, effective July 15th.

Rachael joins us from the Paola Free (Public) Library in Paola, KS where she has been the director since 2021.  She holds an Emporia State University Master of Library Science degree with a concentration in Leadership and Administration. Other previous experiences include Library Media Specialist with the Lawrence Public Schools and Director of the Oskaloosa Public Library in Oskaloosa, Ks.  Rachael brings extensive experience in volunteering for many civic and library organizations.

Rachael currently resides just outside of Lawrence, KS with her husband and three children.  She grew up in Shawnee, KS and spent some time living in Kansas City, KS.
