For nearly a decade, the Kansas Children’s Service League has coordinated the annual CLICK for Babies campaign. This initiative brought awareness to the “Period of Purple Crying” prevention program offered by the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Volunteers, including many from the Basehor Library, donated hand-crafted purple baby caps, which were given to parents of newborns along with
educational materials.

In April, KCSL decided to discontinue this campaign. Instead of collecting caps, KCSL is asking volunteers to knit, crochet or sew baby blankets, sized 45”x54”. The blankets will be given to families who participate in KCSL’s Head Start, Early Head Start, and Healthy Families Kansas programs. Baby blankets can be dropped off at the library and we will make sure they are delivered to KCSL.
